Nicole Ari Parker, an American actor who has appeared in film and television in addition to on stage, is most well-known for portraying Teri Joseph, the fiery lawyer in the show Showtime's Soul Food. After her marriage she became Nikki Kodjoe. She was born and raised within Baltimore Maryland. As young, she demonstrated the desire to act and won the Best Actress Award in the Maryland High School Contest. She received her degree in acting at New York University after working at 'The Washington Ballet Company' as well as in theatre. Her first major role as a character in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love fetched her immense appreciation. The film was followed by films including 'Boogie nights Spark' and Blue Streak. Soul Food, her TV show, was widely praised due to her performance.
